Grapes: Specially selected, hand-picked, highest quality Saperavi grapes from Kakheti region, eastern Georgia.
Preparation Technique: Each year, winemaker selects the best grape clusters, based on their balance, intensity of aroma and ability to maintain good acidity. Grapes are hand-picked and gently processed to make sure they maintain elegancy and fruit aroma. Once the fermentation process is completed, wine is put in French oak barrels to age for 12 months. Wine continues to age in bottle, as well (minimum of six months).
Tasting Notes: Wine has aromas of ripe cherry, vanilla and spices, accompanied by a long, delicate aftertaste. A well-balanced tannin structure ensures that the wine will continue to further develop in bottle and improve over the years. Due to the minimum filtration, small amount of sediment may be produced in the bottle.
Serving Suggestions: Saperavi Special Reserve goes well with smoked cheese, chicken and pork ribs.
